For community partners

Nonprofits, schools, senior meal programs, health organizations, tribes, cities, and community groups across Mason County have been working on food access and local agriculture long before this grant. Market-Ready Mason is here to support and add to that work, and in this first year our priority is learning what organizations here are already doing, so that what this program offers can be useful: producer outreach and support, market access, and connecting the people who grow food here with the people who buy it.

We are also planning a food summit this fall, a chance for farmers, producers, institutional buyers, community partners, and residents to strengthen the relationships a local food system runs on. Please reach out if your organization would like to take part, if you want to know more about what the program offers, or if your organization buys food. We would like to talk with whoever makes those decisions. And if you are already doing work that touches local food in Mason County, we would like to hear about it and talk about where this program might support what you have underway.
