Mason EDC Announces Washington Main Street Program Affiliate Designation for 2027

The Mason County Economic Development Council (Mason EDC) is pleased to announce its designation as a Washington Main Street Program (WSMSP) Affiliate for 2027.

The Affiliate program provides organizations working to revitalize historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts with access to resources, networking opportunities, and expertise in community-driven, asset-based revitalization. Through the designation, Mason EDC will use WSMSP resources to strengthen local efforts supporting downtown Shelton.

“After seeing firsthand how much our downtown businesses do to create meaningful community events and celebrate Shelton’s history and traditions, we wanted to find ways to better support those efforts,” said Tiana Dunbar, External Affairs Manager at Mason EDC. “Becoming a Main Street Affiliate gives us access to resources, expertise, and ideas from communities across the state that we can bring back to Shelton.”

Mason EDC’s pursuit of the designation was supported by the City of Shelton and the Shelton-Mason County Chamber of Commerce, both of which provided letters of support and share an interest in strengthening downtown Shelton.

Additional details about Mason EDC’s participation in the Washington Main Street Program and what the Affiliate designation will mean for downtown Shelton will be shared as we approach 2027.
