For Producers

Most producers we talk to are not short on work ethic or product. They are short on time to chase down a buyer, sort out which license they may need, or figure out whether a grant is worth the paperwork. That is the part we can help with.

Workshops and individual assistance are being planned under this grant right now, and what goes into them depends on what we hear from producers first. We are also running listening sessions alongside ThurstonEDC. If there is something your operation keeps running into, this is the moment it can shape what gets built.

Step 1: Phone Call/Teams Meeting

About 20 minutes. We’ll talk about what you produce, where you currently sell, and any challenges or barriers you’re facing. Prefer email or a Teams meeting? We’re happy to connect in whatever way works best for you.

Step 2: Farm Tour

We can schedule this for a time of day and season that works best for you. During the visit, we’ll take photos and gather content to create an article and other promotional materials that you can use to help showcase your business.

Step 3: Listening Sessions

Hosted in partnership with Thurston EDC, these sessions are a chance for producers to share what’s working, what’s challenging, and what support would be most useful. Your input helps shape future workshops, resources, and assistance around the real needs of local producers.

Producers FAQs

What does it cost to participate?

There is no cost to participate. This program is fully funded through grant support.

Do I have to sell at farmers markets?

No. Farmers markets are just one of many ways to sell your products, and you do not need to participate in one to work with us.

How big does my operation need to be?

Any size. Farms, ranches, shellfish operations, and value-added food producers anywhere in Mason County.

How much of my time will this take?

A phone call and farm visit are all it takes to get started. From there, you can participate as much or as little as works for you.

How will my input be used?

Your feedback helps us build programs around what local producers actually need. We won’t share information about your operation without your approval.
