Business Consulting & Government Relations

Working With Governments

The EDC works with the state and local government to facilitate economic development efforts and promote the economic growth and vitality of Mason County. Understanding that every aspect of government must work together with private business and community organizations, we take a team approach to economic development that is both productive and collaborative.

Working Together to Grow Mason County

Economic development in Washington plays a critical role in building stronger communities through partnerships with governments, development organizations, and local business groups like the chamber of commerce. These efforts focus on job creation, retention, workforce training, and capital investments, all aimed at improving the health, safety, and welfare of Washington's citizens by strengthening the tax base and providing employment opportunities. One successful example is the Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB), which drives economic growth by stimulating investment and job retention. By fostering business growth, investment, and community capacity-building, economic development ensures the long-term prosperity of cities and counties across Washington.

Helping Local Businesses Secure Government Contracts

The EDC supports local economic development in Mason County by helping businesses successfully navigate government contracts through free consulting services. Our partnership with Washington State’s Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) empowers companies to thrive in government contracting by increasing the number of contracts awarded to Washington firms. PTAC offers no-cost, confidential guidance on all aspects of government sales, including bid reviews, marketing, contract performance, and small business designations. PTAC also provides training and assists businesses with database registrations, contributing to over $440 million in government contracts awarded since 2009, helping businesses grow and succeed.
