Mason County EDC Welcomes Two New Board Members
Mason County, WA - July 5, 2024 - Exciting things are happening at the MasonEDC as we welcome two new members to our Board of Directors. These individuals bring a diverse array of skills, experiences, and insights that will undoubtedly strengthen our mission to foster economic growth and prosperity in Mason County. Please join us in welcoming Kelsie Rudnick and Jae Hill!
Kelsie Rudnick, owner of The Shopper, has recently joined our Board of Directors. Kelsie brings a unique perspective as the leader of a woman-owned business in a traditionally male-dominated industry. We are excited to welcome her to our team and look forward to her contributions.
Kelsie’s journey to transitioning The Shopper to a woman-owned enterprise through the state’s Minority and Women-Owned Business (MWBE) certification program was motivated by a desire for growth and the opportunity to secure state contracts. She notes that while the process required time and effort, it was straightforward and ultimately rewarding. Achieving this certification has opened significant opportunities for her business, including the ability to print for the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, which will allow her to employ more people.
As a new board member, Kelsie is deeply invested in the growth of Mason County. Born and raised in the area, she is passionate about seeing the community thrive. Her goal is to support other women-owned businesses, helping them understand their growth potential and navigate the certification process. Kelsie believes in the importance of adaptability and creative problem-solving, qualities she plans to bring to her role on the board.
The Mason County EDC is also thrilled to announce the appointment of Jae Hill, City of Shelton’s Community and Economic Development Director, to our Board of Directors. Jae will be serving in a fixed position, and we are excited to welcome him to our team.
Jae brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our board. His main goal while serving on the board is to align the city's interests with regional interests. By contributing his expertise in planning and community development, Jae hopes to support existing industry sectors and pave the way for new ones to emerge throughout the County. Overall, he believes a rising tide lifts all boats—a mindset essential for advancing economic development.
Jae believes the city's role is to help people reach their goals and allow them the freedom to succeed on their own. He works hard to attract opportunities and assist existing businesses in expanding their operations.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Jae Hill and Kelsie Rudnick. We are confident that their insights, experience, and dedication will greatly enhance the work of the Mason County Economic Development Council. We look forward to their contributions and are excited about the positive impact they will bring to our board and the broader community.
