Zach and Dan of Olympic Mountain Millwork Join MasonEDC Membership!
Mason County, WA – October 29, 2024 – Zach and Dan of Olympic Mountain Millwork have recently joined the Mason County Economic Development Council! This year, the business is celebrating its 20th birthday, now under new ownership by Zach and Dan. Both originally discovered the area as tourists—Dan with a home near Lake Cushman and Zach through visits to the beautiful Alderbrook Resort in Union. Drawn to the rural charm and lifestyle, they eventually made Mason County their permanent home.
Though relatively new to the community, Zach and Dan wasted no time in giving back. They’ve sponsored high school baseball teams, contributed to the Salmon for Soldiers charity event, and supported local causes like ORCA Clean Air. Olympic Mountain Millwork now has 11 full-time employees and plans to expand soon to meet the growing demand for their products.
As Mason County’s population continues to rise, Zach and Dan are passionate about the need for affordable housing. They see a great opportunity to provide locally sourced millwork products that serve the growing community. When asked why they chose Mason County to do business, beyond its natural beauty and slower pace of life, they pointed to the growth experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic and the grossly under-served demand for millwork products. The opportunity was obvious to them—by meeting this local need, they could ensure contractors and homeowners find what they need right here in Mason County, without having to leave the county.
By partnering with the Mason EDC, Zach and Dan aim to grow their business while also building connections with other local businesses to address issues like the housing shortage. They share the EDC’s vision for economic growth, including the development of a new hotel, and are eager to collaborate on initiatives that will help Mason County thrive. As the community grows, so will the opportunities for businesses like Olympic Mountain Millwork, and Zach and Dan are ready to play a key role in that growth.
